TiviMate + Tivi Portal: setup and login
TiviMate is the player most Android and Fire Stick users end up with, because its programme guide handles large playlists and its favourites work the way a TV remote should. This guide covers installing TiviMate Premium, adding your Tivi Portal login, tuning the guide, and fixing the two problems people hit most: buffering and a missing EPG.
Step by step
Installing and setting up TiviMate
- 1
Install TiviMate Premium
Open Google Play on the device and install TiviMate IPTV Player. On Amazon Fire OS, open the Appstore and search for TiviMate. If the store is unavailable on your device, install the Downloader app and sideload the APK — support can send the current safe link.
Install the paid TiviMate Premium version. The free build shows a splash screen and drops the recording and favourites features.
- 2
Open TiviMate and add a playlist
Launch the app. On first run it asks for a playlist source — choose “Add playlist”, then pick “Xtream Codes API”. If you skip this step, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and choose Add Playlist again.
- 3
Paste the Tivi Portal login
Fill in Any Name (a label such as “Home”), Username, Password and Server. Copy the server address exactly as it appears in your activation message, including http:// or https:// and any port number.
No spaces before or after the values, and check 0 versus O in the username — that is the most common login failure.
- 4
Load the channel list and EPG
Tap Next and let TiviMate fetch the groups and the programme guide. The first sync can take a couple of minutes on a large playlist. When the guide is empty, open the playlist settings and set the EPG source to the same server address you used for the login.
The EPG source and the playlist server are the same string for Tivi Portal. Copy it twice if you have to.
- 5
Tune the guide for your region
Open Settings → EPG and set the time offset and country so the guide lines up with your local time. Then hide the groups you never open — a trimmed list is much easier to scroll with a remote.
- 6
Set playback options and favourite channels
In Settings → Player, keep the decoder on hardware and set the buffer to Normal for live TV. Star the channels you actually watch so they appear in favourites on the home screen.
- 7
Test peak time, then start watching
Play one live sports channel during the event window and one movie from VOD. If both are stable, setup is done. Recording is available on TiviMate Premium for channels that permit it.
Xtream Codes and M3U connection steps
Connecting your login
Option A — Xtream Codes API (recommended)
Add playlist → Xtream Codes API → enter Any Name, Username, Password and Server. TiviMate then fetches the groups, the logo pack and the EPG automatically, and the playlist refreshes itself.
Option B — M3U URL
Add playlist → Link / M3U URL → paste the playlist link from your activation message. Some players need the playlist to end with a slash — if the list stays empty, add it and reload.
What to do if the list will not load
Re-type the server address without a trailing space, confirm the trial or plan is still active, and ask support to resend the credentials. A wrong port in the server address is the usual cause.
Fix it
Buffering and EPG troubleshooting
Live TV buffers every few seconds
Set the buffer to Normal in Settings → Player, keep the hardware decoder on, and move the device to 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Close other streaming apps, and if you are on mobile data switch to Wi-Fi — some carriers throttle video.
The guide is empty but the channels play
Open the playlist settings and set the EPG source to the same server address as your login, then refresh the guide. Give it a minute or two — a full guide for a large playlist takes time to parse.
Premium features are locked
TiviMate Premium is a separate one-time purchase from Google Play. The Tivi Portal subscription covers the channels, not the player.
The app closes right after opening
Update Android System WebView and Google Play Services, clear the TiviMate cache in Android settings, and reboot the device.
Can I use TiviMate on a Samsung or LG TV?
TiviMate runs on Android and Android TV. Samsung and LG televisions need Smart IPTV, SET IPTV, SS IPTV or a Fire Stick on HDMI — the Fire Stick route is the most reliable.
